The Ireland Women's National Team advanced to Round 2 of the UEFA EURO 2025 Qualifying Play-Offs following a 3-0 victory over Georgia in Tallaght Stadium.

Goals from Julie-Ann Russell, Kyra Carusa and Katie McCabe rounded off a fine performance in front of 8,745 supporters to wrap up a 9-0 aggregate win.

Russell, who picked up the Sky Ireland Player of the Match award, opened the scoring after just three minutes with a low drive from inside the opposition's penalty area.

Ireland stayed on the front foot and increased their lead when Carusa scored her second goal in as many games in this tie. The San Diego Wave forward is now joint eighth in the all-time WNT goalscorers list.

Captain McCabe had the opportunity to convert a penalty on 35 minutes but missed the target with her effort. It mattered little as she drilled in a superb third goal early in the second half.

With a new record attendance set for Tallaght Stadium and a route through to the next stage of the Play-Offs - where Cymru wait - this was job done by Eileen Gleeson's team.
