Safeguarding vetting update

Safeguarding vetting update

The Association is continuing to make good progress to support faster processing of safeguarding vetting applications and renewals.

To assist the safeguarding team - who have been managing a high volume of applications - a Limerick-based organisation is providing additional support.

Clubs should not be concerned over being penalised where delays are genuinely linked to current system challenges rather than inaction at club level. However, this should not be seen as a reason to pause or delay as clubs still have important work to do to ensure applications and renewals are submitted as early as possible.

Clubs are also reminded of their Club Mark requirements in this regard. The Association remains committed to the agreed Club Mark timelines needed to raise safeguarding and governance standards across the game.
