REPORT | WU19 | Ireland 1-3 Switzerland

Leah McGrath scored the only goal for the Ireland Women's Under-19s as they lost 3-1 to Switzerland in an International Friendly in Spain.

Wexford native McGrath fired in after 18 minutes to register her first goal at this level and it gave Ireland hope of bettering the 1-1 result from the first meeting between the teams in this international window.

However, Switzerland showed their class by scoring three times to take control of the game and seal victory in spite of Ireland's efforts.

In what was a rain-soaked Campoamor Resort in Alicante, the Girls in Green made six changes at the interval to ensure all players got sufficient game-time.

This fixture was all about trying different things, working on patterns and building familiarity as Ireland look ahead to their UEFA European WU19 Championship Round 2 Qualifiers in April.

Ireland: Enya Carthy (Jenna Willoughby 46); Sophia Leonard (Lauren Bowe 46), Kate Jones (Lillie Quinlivan Coulson 66), Finley Newell, Clodagh Daly (Lucy Fitzgerald 46), Ella Kelly; Aoibhe Brennan (Aisling Meehan 46), Eve O'Carroll (Hannah O'Brien 66), Katie Lawlee; Hannah Healy (Della Cowper Gray 46); Leah McGrath (Katie O'Reilly 46).
