The Ireland Men's Under-19s got their UEFA European Under-19 Championship campaign started with a point following a 1-1 draw with Poland in Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex, Glasgow.

Captain Rory Finneran scored an early goal in the opening minutes of the game to give Ireland the lead before Polish midfielder Filip Przybylko tied the game with equaliser on 65 minutes.

Kian McMahon-Brown had a chance at getting a winner for his team when a penalty was awarded in Ireland's favour in the 70th minute but unfortunately he failed to find the back of the net.

Next up for John Cotter's side are games against Scotland on March 28th and Italy on March 31st with the hopes of qualifying for the Elite Round of the UEFA Men’s Under-19 Championship and with the ultimate end goal of qualifying for the FIFA Under-20 World Cup.
