Rush Athletic host fantastic Propser Fingal Blitz event
The event ran seamlessly as part of a Fingal County Council/FAI Football For All plan for the area to continue to grow the game across the region.
Football in the prosper centres were badly hit by the pandemic but now, the football has once again took centre stage as Rush Athletic enjoyed a great day of participation and activity.
FAI Development Officers Heather Jameson and Christy McElligott, FAI staff Paul Keogh, Jamie Wilson and Sharon Boyle worked with Anne Murray, FAI support coach, who continues to be a driving force for inclusion in the region, to ensure a successful event.
"It was a fantastic day with over 40 players from the Prosper centres of Swords and Rush, our visitors from Prosper Kells and the continued involvement of the League of Ireland inclusion team from Shelbourne FC," said FAI Development Officer Paul Keogh.
"Support also most welcomed from Shelbourne in the community initiative overseen by Paul Doody and Jason McGuiness. It was difficult in the extreme heat for the players, but they acquitted themselves really well and a big thanks to the support staff of the Prosper centres and of course Anne Murray.
"Excitement is already building for the next event on September 28th and it shows grassroots football is at the heart of the game and provides pathways for all."
