National Learning Network clients earn PDP1

Last week, ten clients attending National Learning Networks worked alongside development officers from the FAI Football For All programme, Nick Harrison, Chris McElligott and Paul Smyth to achieve the PDP1 Introductory coaching qualification.

The course was held online over four mornings with the budding coaches discussing topics such as the role of a coach, characteristics of young players and using online software to plan their coaching sessions.

Jonny Hyland, an instructor from the National Learning Network in Tralee said "Students at NLN always enjoy the FAI Courses and are keen to get back out on the pitch to try out their new skills and coaching ideas. Fingers crossed that this becomes possible soon!"

FAI Development Officers run regular training and blitzes for learners attending adult services and have plans to create national friendly competition opportunities for those groups in 2022.
