WU19 | Round 2 EURO Qualifiers next up

The Ireland Women’s Under-19s are preparing for three crucial Round 2 games as part of qualification for the 2025 UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championships.

After beating both Bulgaria and Finland in the Round 1 Qualifiers, Dave Connell’s squad will feel that they have a great opportunity to build on those results going into these games.

Only the group winners will advance to this summer’s Finals tournament in Poland with the Girls in Green ranked second behind France and just ahead of Serbia and Cymru.

For Connell, the target is to reach a third EUROs at this age level. To help the squad achieve that, they have included 10 players who were part of the group that went to the showcase event in Lithuania last year.

Captain Lia O’Leary has been impressing with Bristol City in the English Championship, while Aoife Turner and Katie Lawlee have replaced the injured pair of Grace Fitzpatrick Ryan and Ellen Dolan.
