WU17s to take on Northern Ireland in International Friendly

The Ireland Women’s Under-17s will face Northern Ireland in an International Friendly on Sunday, October 5th.

After winning an International Tournament in Italy in September, the WU17s will be aiming to build up momentum leading into their UEFA European Championship qualifiers.

This latest test allows Head Coach James Scott to bring in Shamrock Rovers trio Sophie Clarke, Mia Gaff and Alice Buggle, Shelbourne defender Caoimhe O’Brien and Treaty United midfielder Madison McGuane who missed the three games in Italy.

Ireland are set to play Belgium, France and Germany in their EURO qualifiers in Frankfurt from October 23-29, so this extra game will boost their preparation and allow Scott, and his staff, to fine-tune their approach.
