WU17s line up three friendlies in Portugal

The Ireland Women’s Under-17s get their 2023/24 season underway with three International Friendly games in Portugal this week.

Head Coach James Scott has selected 22 players to assess in games against Poland (August 30), Scotland (September 2) and Portugal (September 5), which will act as preparation for their UEFA European Championship Qualifiers in October.

Peamount United defender Abigail Bradshaw earns a promotion from the Women’s Under-16 squad who beat Faroe Islands in two games last week – scoring 13 goals in total.

There are also a number of players included who helped last season’s WU16 group win the UEFA Development Tournament in Serbia as they continue their development at international level.

Also called up are several players who have made their debuts in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division having starred in the EA SPORTS WU19 League of Ireland Academy.
