WU17: Review of 2022

WU17: Review of 2022

The dream of making it to the UEFA Women’s Under-17 European Championships remains alive for the Republic of Ireland Women’s Under-17s following an eventful year.

Home advantage at Tallaght Stadium didn’t pay off in the Round 2 qualifiers in March, but James Scott’s squad are back at that stage to qualify for the 2022/23 tournament in Estonia.

Friendly games against Portugal certainly helped them going into their Round 1 games in Northern Ireland, where they overcame both Finland and the hosts. So there is plenty to be positive about going into 2023.
