WNT set for International Friendly against Hungary in Spain

The Ireland Women’s National Team will close out the year with a behind-closed-doors International Friendly against Hungary in Marbella, Spain on Saturday, November 29th

After clinching promotion to League A in the UEFA Nations League, following their two-legged Play-Off victory over Belgium, the Girls in Green will go to Spain for a training camp and an International Friendly game to complete the November international window.

Ireland WNT Head Coach Carla Ward said: “It’s important to use every opportunity that we can to work with the players as we continue towards our goal of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and that this camp gives us that extra time with the squad.

“The plan was always to have a training camp outside of the country for this international window but adding in an International Friendly with Hungary is a bonus as that will provide us with a chance to test ourselves against a good team.”

This game will be the 10th meeting between the two teams at women’s senior level and the first since they met in the first UEFA Nations League campaign in 2023.

The game in the Marbella Football Center will mark the 11th of the calendar year for the WNT, while it will act as Head Coach Carla Ward’s third International Friendly game since taking charge in January.

This game will not be open to the general public.
