Match & Stadium Information
Fixture: Netherlands vs. Republic of Ireland

Date: Saturday, March 7, 2025

Kick-Off: 8:45 pm (local time)

Venue: Stadion Galgenwaard, Utrecht

The stadium offers a wide variety of food and drink options, including alcoholic beverages. Please be aware that the Stadion Galgenwaard is a cashless venue, so you will need a debit/credit card for all purchases inside the ground.

Getting to Stadion Galgenwaard
The stadium is located in the east of Utrecht, approximately 2.5km from the city centre and 3km from the main train station (Utrecht Centraal).

The venue is well-served by public transport. Bus 41 from Utrecht Centraal station is a direct option and takes approximately 10 minutes.

Travel & Transport in the Netherlands
From Schiphol Airport:
Most supporters will arrive via Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport. The Sprinter train is the most efficient way to get to Amsterdam Centraal station, taking 15-18 minutes and costing approximately €5.20 - €6.70 (one-way). Taxis are also plentiful and typically cost between €35-€60.

Travel to Utrecht:
A separate return train ticket from Amsterdam to Utrecht will be required. We recommend booking in advance via the official NS website: https://www.nsinternational.com/en. Trains to Amsterdam run frequently after the match, with several services per hour until around 00:30, after which they become less frequent. Please check the NS website on the day for any potential service changes.

Paying for Public Transport:
Most public transport in the Netherlands (trams, buses, metro) operates a tap-on/tap-off system with a debit or credit card. It is very important to remember to tap off at the end of your journey to avoid being charged an excess fare.

For tourists staying in Amsterdam, multi-day public transport tickets can offer great value. More details can be found here: https://www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/overseas-travel/advice/the-netherlands/.

Important Local & Safety Information
Cashless Society: Please be aware that the Netherlands is an increasingly cashless society. While most places accept credit cards, we advise having a debit card, which is accepted almost everywhere.

Passport & Valuables: Please be vigilant with your passport and personal belongings, particularly in busy areas and on public transport between the airport and city centres. An Irish Passport Card is sufficient for travel within the EU.

Emergency Tip: We strongly recommend keeping a digital scan or photo of your passport on your phone and in your email. This will significantly speed up the process of getting replacement travel documents if it is lost or stolen.

Emergency Number: The emergency number in the Netherlands is 112.
