Swiss double header next up for WU17s

Two International Friendly games against Switzerland in Spain are next on the agenda for the Republic of Ireland Women's Under-17s.

Head Coach James Scott has promoted Shelbourne attacker Rebecca Devereux from the Ireland Women's Under-16s, while Sienna Gibson - who plays in Canada with Vancouver Whitecaps - earns a first call-up at any age level.

Three players are included who joined new clubs in the SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division: Aoibhe Fleming and Aoife Kelly (Shamrock Rovers), Jodie Loughrey (Sligo Rovers).

Ireland will use these two games to act as preparation for their UEFA Women's Under-17 European Championship Qualifying Round 2 games in March against Kosovo, Italy and France, with the latter hosting the mini tournament.

The target is to make it out of Group A5 in order to secure qualification to this summer's finals in Estonia. The hard work starts now.
