REPORT | WU19 | Poland 3-0 Ireland

Three first-half goals saw Poland record a 3-0 triumph over the Ireland Women's Under-19s in their UEFA European Championship Qualifier in Albena, Bulgaria.

After losing their opening game to Sweden, the Girls in Green knew that they needed to get a result in this Group A5 encounter but they fell behind after 10 minutes played.

Weronika Arasniewicz opened the scoring for Poland after goalkeeper Maeve Gayer initially made a save and it was advantage to the opposition at that point.

Ella Kelly and Aoibhe Brennan did go close to pulling one back for Dave Connell's team but they fell further behind on 37 minutes when Julia Langosz scored.

Then to make matters worse, Poland got a third goal before the break through midfielder Zuzanna Witek and that gave Ireland a difficult task to get back into it.

Connell made three changes at the interval to freshen things up and tweak their approach but this just wasn't Ireland's day as little clicked for them in front of goal.

Ireland: Maeve Gayer; Sophia Leonard (Della Cowper Gray 46), Lillie Quinlivan Coulson (Maeve Wollmer 55), Lucy Fitzgerald, Finley Newell, Ella Kelly; Aoibhe Brennan, Katie Lawlee; Lauren Bowe (Clodagh Daly 46), Rebecca Devereux (Anna Burler 46), Hannah Healy (Madison McGuane 64).
