REPORT | WU19 | Bulgaria 1-4 Ireland

The Ireland Women's Under-19s closed out their UEFA European WU19 First Round Qualifiers with a 4-1 victory over Bulgaria.

All four goals were scored in the first half with Anna Butler netting twice as Maeve Wollmer and Hannah Healy got one each.

The Girls in Green were bouncing back from defeats to Sweden and Poland as they showed a lot of quality to take control of this Group A5 match.

With Aoibhe Brennan serving a suspension, the captain's armband was taken on by Katie Lawlee as she formed an all-Limerick midfield alongside Madison McGuane.

Ireland took the lead on 16 minutes when Shamrock Rovers forward Butler edged in front of her marker to meet a cross from club-mate Ella Kelly and fire in.

The second goal was a brilliant move and finish with Bohemians ace Hannah Healy showcasing her trickery before feeding the ball to Shelbourne's Wollmer to rifle in a low shot.

Healy got the third goal on 34 minutes when the Dubliner collected possession inside the Bulgarian penalty area, cleverly turned her marker and blasted in.

Butler then added her second of the game, just before the interval, when she converted from a cross from Della Cowper Gray to notch her fifth international goal of the year.

Bulgaria did pull one back through Raya Boneva but it was never going to stir a comeback as Ireland were in complete control of this game and deservedly picked up the win.

Ireland: Enya Carthy; Sophia Leonard, Lucy Fitzgerald, Finley Newell, Ella Kelly (Clodagh Daly 63); Madison McGuane, Katie Lawlee; Della Cowper Gray (Hannah O'Brien 63), Anna Butler (Hazel Donegan 75), Hannah Healy (Lauren Bowe 75).
