The Boys in Green face a busy schedule with four matches on the horizon. The campaign begins in Pristina against Kosovo, followed by a trip to Debrecen, Hungary, to face Israel. Ireland then return to Dublin to host Austria at the Aviva Stadium, before concluding the window against Israel in a match set to be played in Bačka Topola, Serbia.

Captain Nathan Collins has been ruled out of all four matches through injury. His absence leads to a first senior call-up for Sheffield United centre-back Liam Kitching, who joins the squad to bolster defensive options.

The squad also sees the return of Watford winger Rocco Vata, who receives his first call-up since March 2025 following a successful recovery from a long-term injury. A number of players who impressed during the summer friendly series against Grenada, Qatar, and Canada have retained their places, including Jack Moylan, Owen Elding and Tom Cannon.

Cardiff City defender Joel Bagan also returns to the fold. Bagan received his first call-up in May for the friendly against Grenada but was ultimately forced to withdraw through injury.
