The Ireland Women's National Team lost 4-0 to the United States in an International Friendly in TQL Stadium, Cincinnati.

In what was the 17th meeting between the two teams. Carla Ward's side were undone by goals from Lynn Biyendolo, Izzy Rodriguez, Yazmeen Ryan and Alyssa Thompson.

Ireland made four changes to their starting line-up that faced the World No 1 three days previous in Colorado but faced a difficult challenge in dealing with the intense afternoon heat.

Captain Courtney Brosnan made a number of fine saves, while both Emily Murphy and Kyra Carusa had opportunities to score but it wasn't to be for the Girls in Green.

The next assignment for Ireland is the UEFA Nations League Promotion / Relegation Play-Off against Belgium in October.
