Carla Ward's team knew that they needed to win this to stay in the hunt for topping Group B and they brought the best out of goalkeeper Selda Akgöz with shots from Lucy Quinn and Katie McCabe,.

However, it was the home side who took the lead on 49 minutes when Kader Hancar converted from close range following a swift breakaway move.

Ireland kept pushing to get back into the game and showed a lot of resilience to continue trying to find a way through. They eventually drew level on 80 minutes when Busem Seker put the ball into her own net from a Megan Campbell long throw-in.

Then Murphy sealed it with her first WNT goal when she smashed in a volley on 89 minutes. This is a big result for Ireland and they will be keen to take the confidence from it into the next game.
