REPORT | GU16 | Northern Ireland 2-4 Republic of Ireland

The Republic of Ireland Girls' Under-16s recorded a 4-2 victory over Northern Ireland in an International Friendly in the Newforge Sports Complex, Belfast.

Having started the new season with back-to-back wins over Cymru, Tom Elmes's squad turned on the style again as they proved to be too strong for their hosts in this encounter.

Early goals from Kassie McLoughlin and Madison McGuane settled their nerves and that allowed Ireland to quickly establish a rhythm to their play through fluid passing and clever running off the ball.

Cork City defender Holly O'Hagan got their third goal on 40 minutes to send the visitors in at the interval in control of a game that they were using to test out new patterns of play.

Bohemians forward Mia Gaff rounded off their scoring with a finish on 55 minutes to cap off a good day for a squad of players who are clicking straight away as a cohesive unit.

Republic of Ireland: Sarah Doyle (Lucy Doyle Farrington 46); Annabel Mulcaire Quille, Sophie Clarke (Caoimhe O’Brien 46), Holly O’Hagan, Keelin Comiskey (Hailey Twomey 46); Madison McGuane, Emma Mooney (Mia Murtagh 46); Kassie McLoughlin (Eva Loftus 46), Molly Kirwan (Mia Gaff 46), Alice Buggle (Sophie Byrne 46); Ciara Milton (Halle Harcourt 46).
