REPORT | GU16 | Ireland 4-1 Switzerland

The Ireland Girls' Under-16s displayed a lot of quality in a 4-1 win over Switzerland in the second of back-to-back International Friendlies.

Bohemians midfielder Alex Devoy opened the scoring after just six minutes to give Tom Elmes's side the lead against a team that they defeated 3-1 three days previous.

Switzerland levelled matters three minutes later when Ilenia De Cubellis found the back of the net and they tried to take control but found goalkeeper Sarah Doyle in excellent form.

Captain Madison McGuane then restored Ireland's advantage by scoring on 39 minutes and that brought them into the half-time break leading 2-1.

As expected, Elmes rotated his team in the second period to give minutes to every player and one of those substitutes, Ciara Milton, was next to score when firing in on 74 minutes.

The contest was closed off when Treaty United defender Annabelle Mulcaire Quille popped up with the final goal with five minutes of regular time left to play.

This was another impressive performance from a talented group of players and Elmes will be pleased by their continued development.

Ireland: Sarah Doyle (Lucy Doyle Farrington 60); Lara Dallaghan, Sophie Clarke (Keelin Comiskey 46), Amelia Fahey, Ava Hallinan (Hailey Twomey 60); Madison McGuane, Alex Devoy (Emma Mooney 60); Fiona Poole (Molly Kirwan 60), Alice Buggle (Annabelle Mulcaire Quille 73), Ellen Goggin (Ciara Milton 46); Halle Harcourt (Ruby Morrison 73).
