REPORT | GU16 | Ireland 2-1 Scotland

The Ireland Girls' Under-16s overcame Scotland 2-1 in an International Friendly to round off a double-header between the teams.

Two excellent goals - from Ciara Milton and Mia Gaff - helped Tom Elmes's side win this game at the FAI National Training Centre.

After stealing possession inside her own half, Alice Buggle drove forward before slipping a pass to Shamrock Rovers forward Milton who cut inside from the left flank to curl a superb right-footed effort into the back of the net.

The second half, which came in the second half, saw substitute Gaff follow up a shot from Annabel Mulcaire Quille that was parried by the Scottish goalkeeper and the Bohemians ace was in the right place to convert from close range.

Even with a strong wind and Scotland determined to bounce back from losing the first game, Ireland showed plenty of grit in their performance but also a lot of quality in their patterns of play.

Elmes and his support staff will be pleased with how this series played out as they continue to develop this group of players going into 2025.

Ireland: Sarah Doyle (Isabelle Carroll 75); Lara Dallaghan (Annabel Mulcaire Quille 75), Sophie Clarke, Keelin Comiskey, Hailey Twomey; Fiona Poole, Emma Mooney (Madison McGuane 46); Alice Buggle (Ruby Morrison 60), Chloe Sarcia-Maxwell (Molly Kirwan 60), Halle Harcourt (Sophie Hardy 46); Ciara Milton (Mia Gaff 60).
