REPORT | GU16 | Czechia 4-0 Ireland

The Ireland Girls' Under-16s closed out a two-game International Friendly series in Prague with a 4-0 loss to Czechia.

After losing narrowly 3-2 in their opening duel, Ireland made some changes to their starting line-up for this second meeting with Czechia to give more game-time to players.

Goals inside the opening 15 minutes, from Nela Sládková and Ema Hrubá, disrupted the rhythm that Tom Elmes' side were attempting to build in the early exchanges and that made things difficult.

Still, the resilience that is already evident in this new group of players was on full display as they continued to play their game and push their opponents back.

Late goals from Denisa Prošková and Adéla Berčíková wrapped up the win for the home team but the loss does not take anything away from the Ireland performance.

Ireland: Sofia Blackmore; Emily Staunton (Alannah Bowes 46), Leah O'Leary Callendar (Ailbhe White 73), Ruby Boland, Laila Hurley (Leah Stack 60); Leah Hannon (Fiadh Woods 46), Faith Dawson (Maisy Healy 46); Mia Whelan (Jane Smyth 60), Ava Kelly, Lucy McIntyre (Ruby Norris 46); Matyla Stelmaszek (Regan Alford 60).
