Abbie Larkin scored in the last minute to help the Ireland Women's National Team secure promotion to League A in the UEFA Nations League following a 5-4 aggregate win over Belgium.

After winning the First Leg of their Promotion / Relegation Play-Off 4-2 in the Aviva Stadium, Carla Ward's team lost this Second Leg 2-1 in Leuven but that late goal from Larkin was the difference.

In what was only her second senior goal - on her 30th appearance - Larkin kept her composure to chip the ball over Belgium goalkeeper Nicky Evrard just in time.

Ireland thoroughly deserved this promotion despite Tessa Wullaert netting twice in the first half to bring the tie back level. It only helped to fire Ireland up as they dominated the second period.

With over 300 Irish fans in attendance amongst the 7,038 spectators in Den Dreef, Ward's team showed plenty of character and when they moved the ball through transition they caused a lot of problems.

Larkin was superb as an impact substitute and picked up the Sky Ireland Player of the Match Award, which was quite a feat considering captain Katie McCabe impressed again on her 100th senior appearance.

Ireland now return to League A for the second time and will discover their opponents in a draw on November 4th.
