Match & Stadium Information

The game will be played at the Estádio José Alvalade, Rua Professor Fernando da Fonseca, 1501-806 Lisbon.

There will be a wide variety of food and drink options available in the stadium. However, alcohol cannot be served under Portuguese law.

As previously communicated, children under 3 years of age are not permitted to enter the stadium (this is Portuguese law).

The stadium is well served by public transport (Download Stadium Info & Rules above). Visiting supporters will not be permitted to use Campo Grande metro station.

Most fans are expected to arrive via Lisbon Airport, which is also well served by public transport.

Please note: power banks are not allowed in the stadium.

Bags & Storage

Please be aware of the stadium’s bag policy. There is no bag storage available at the venue. We have requested that facilities be provided and will update you if this changes.

Fan Gathering & Police Guidance

Lisbon Police recommend that our supporters gather in the Praça do Rossio area (Download Fan Guide above for more details).

We are expecting a “hold-back” of 30–45 minutes for away fans after the match.

Flags & Banners

  • Flags and banners larger than 1 metre x 1 metre require a fire safety certificate and must be pre-approved by the Portuguese Football Federation.

  • A document with approved flags will be shared. If you have not already provided a photo of your flag, please send it to [email protected] no later than Monday, October 6th.

  • The hosts will require a copy of the fire safety certificate at the stadium inspection point.

Safety & Practical Information

  • The emergency number in Portugal is 112.

  • We recommend keeping a scan of your passport on your phone and in your email in case it is lost or stolen, to assist with replacement travel documents.

Embassy & Consular Contacts

The Irish Embassy in Lisbon can be contacted at +351 21 330 8200, from 09:30 – 12:30, Monday to Friday.

Outside these hours, you can contact the Duty Officer in the DFA at +353 1 4082000 for consular assistance.
