MU19s & MU17s squad for September friendlies

The squads for the Ireland Men’s Under-19s and Under-17s have been confirmed ahead of international action for both teams this week.

Men’s Under-19s Head Coach Tom Mohan has named a 23-man squad for games in Slovenia against France, Kazakhstan and Slovenia, while Colin O’Brien’s Under-17s head to Spain for a double-header against Denmark.

Both teams are using the games as part of their preparation for their respective European Qualifiers with the Under-17s making the trip to the North to face Lithuania, Northern Ireland and Scotland in October. The Under-19s will travel to Moldova in November to take on the hosts as well as Azerbaijan and Iceland.

Mohan hands first Under-19s caps to Manchester United’s Jacob Devaney, Cian Dillon of Shamrock Rovers, Cian O’Shea of Stockport County (on loan at Stockport Town), UCD’s Cathal McCarthy, Finn Harp’s Aaron McLaughlin and Declan Osagie of Bohemians. St. Patrick’s Athletic striker Mason Melia is included in the squad but will join up with team after the SSE Airtricity Men's Premier Division fixture against Dundalk on Thursday, September 5.

Colin O’Brien has named 15 players from the EA SPORTS LOI Academy in squad including Pat’s striker Michael Noonan who finished the international year on 13 goals.
