MU19 | Squad finalised for U19 EURO Qualifiers in Netherlands

Ireland Men’s Under-19s Head Coach Tom Mohan will lead his squad to the Netherlands next week for three Under-19 EURO Qualifiers.

Mohan has selected a squad of 20 for games against Kazakhstan (Wednesday, November 12), Cyprus, (Saturday, November 15) and the Netherlands (Tuesday, November 18).

A place in Elite Round await the teams who finish first and second in the group with next year’s Championships taking place in Wales.

Dublin-born Ethan Simunyu of Sabadell FC in Spain earns his first Ireland call-up to an Irish squad.

Men's Under-19 Head Coach Tom Mohan said: “This will be an excellent challenge for our players. All three teams we'll face will have different styles of play and it’s for us to go out and compete against the quality opposition before us.

“It’s a chance for the players I’ve selected to establish themselves in the Under-19s team. We’ve a number of players in our player pool who are with our Under-21s or out in Qatar at the World Cup excelling with the Under-17s.

“The bigger picture is these experiences will stand to those players and be a huge benefit for Irish football in the future. What it does do is open the door for other players to play in three huge games and put themselves in with a chance to be involved in a team looking to qualify for a European Championship.”
