MU19 | Mohan names squad for Albania friendlies

Ireland Men’s Under-19 Head Coach Tom Mohan has named a squad of 19 for two friendlies against Albania next week.

The young Boys in Green are preparing ahead of the Under-19 EURO qualifiers in the Netherlands in November. Ireland are in Group 1 with Cyprus, Kazakhstan and the hosts.

Mohan’s side play Albania on Friday, October 10 and again Sunday, October 12. There are first-time call-ups for Pijus Otegbayo of Stoke City, George King of Crystal Palace and Harry Byrne of Tottenham Hotspur.

Republic of Ireland Men’s Under-19s Squad

Goalkeepers: Marcus Gill (Celtic), Patricio Schroeder (Gimnasia).

Defenders: Matteo Egan (Empoli), George King (Crystal Palace), Alain Kizenga (Bray Wanderers), Taylor McCarthy (Shelbourne), Rafe McCormack (Manchester United), Pijus Otegbayo (Stoke City) James Roche (Shelbourne).

Midfielders: Harry Byrne (Tottenham Hotspur), Alfie Lynskey (Aston Villa), Daniel Mare (Shelbourne), Jay McEvoy (Manchester United), Harry McGlinchey (Chelsea), Sean Moore (Longford Town).

Forwards: Adam Brennan (UCD), Zak O’Sullivan (Fleetwood Town, on loan from Waterford), Aaron Ochoa Moloney (Malaga), Ike Orazi (Stade de Reims).
