MU19 Head Coach Tom Mohan will take his side to France for two games against the French at the famous Clairefontaine National Football Centre.
The Under-19s squad will take part in friendlies on Friday, September 5th and Monday, September 8th.
Meanwhile, Colin O’Brien’s World-Cup bound squad travel to Czechia for three games in this international window.
They play the hosts on Wednesday, September 3rd, followed by Switzerland on Friday, September 5th and end their international window against Türkiye on Sunday, September 7th.
Mohan has handed first Ireland call-ups to Shay Reid (Preston North End), William Burrell (Birmingham City), Oliver Tevenan (Manchester City), Rafe McCormack (Manchester United), Alain Kizenga (Bray Wanderers) and goalkeeper Patricio Schroeder (Gimnasia, Argentina).
The U19s Head Coach also welcomes former Ireland international Kevin Foley and goalkeeping coach Micheál Schlingermann to his backroom team after former coaches Mick Neville and Dermot O’Neill called time on their international coaching careers last week.
O’Brien has called in Finn Harps goalkeeper Corey Sheridan for his first Ireland international camp.
Ahead of the window Tom Mohan said: “We’ve a number of players in with Jim Crawford’s (Under-21) for their upcoming UEFA qualifying group games and Colin O’Brien’s (Under-17) squads in preparation for the World Cup in November. So our matches against France are a huge opportunity to look at the depth of players available for the Under-19s heading into our Round One Qualifiers in the Netherlands in November.”
O’Brien has said the games in Czechia this week will be a huge test for his players. He said: “The three games against Czechia, Switzerland and Türkiye are as tough as you can get in international football but we’re looking forward to the games. We played three matches against tough opposition in June and now we face a further three challenging games. They will be a big test but this is exactly what is required for the group to prepare for the World Cup in Qatar in November.”
