MU17 | Review of 2021

Colin O’Brien’s Men’s Under-17s navigated their way to the Elite Round of the European Championship following three thrilling games in Turner’s Cross.

The MU17s made Cork their own starting the season in September with an excellent 2-1 friendly win over Mexico in front of more than 1,000 fans – Franco Umeh and Mark O’Mahony with the Ireland goals.

The Mexicans won the second game 2-0 but this didn’t deter the young Boys in Green who a month later beat Andorra 5-0, North Macedonia 2-0 and came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Poland to top their group in qualification.
