MU16 | Review of 2021

The Republic of Ireland Men’s Under-16 side have been in free-scoring form since their first game of the year in September – a 3-0 victory over Malta.

Since then the MU16s have scored 16 goals in eight matches this season with only Scotland and Spain able to shut-out the young Boys in Green.

Paul Osam’s side finished up their visit to Malta with 6-0 win before heading to Belfast for the Victory Shield. They ended the tournament on a high beating the hosts Northern Ireland 2-0 with goals from Cillian Mulvihill and Trent Kone Doherty.

Next up was a training camp in Spain where Ireland secured a 3-0 win over Norway in style before ending their year with solid performances against the same opposition a week later and against hosts Spain.
