Help shape the future of women & girls' football

A new PhD scholarship is providing the opportunity for a research student to make a different in the future of women & girls' football.

Run by the South East Technological University (SETU) and supported by Sport Ireland, this scholarship aims to identify, implement and evaluate best practice in recreational football for women & girls.

This four-year PhD will explore how recreational football can support lifelong participation, inclusion, wellbeing and gender equity for women and girls around Ireland.

The research aims to generate practical guidance and resources to support inclusive and sustainable recreational football opportunities across the lifespan for women and girls.

It is a full-time project with a €22,500 stipend with fees covered and research costs included, with the support of the Football Association of Ireland.
