Hallgrímsson names a 24-man squad for matches against Senegal & Luxembourg

Republic of Ireland Head Coach Heimir Hallgrímsson has named a 24-man squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Senegal at the Aviva Stadium and away to Luxembourg.

Ireland are set to face Senegal on Friday, June 6, with kick-off at 7.45pm at the Aviva Stadium, before heading to Luxembourg for the second international friendly of the window for the fixture on Tuesday, June 10, with kick-off at 7.45pm (Irish Time).

The squad sees a first senior call-up for Reims midfielder John Joe Patrick Finn, young Leyton Orient goalkeeper Josh Keeley and Killian Phillips, who has impressed on loan from Crystal Palace at St. Mirren this season. Shamrock Rovers defender Josh Honohan receives his first call-up to the senior squad having impressed in the League of Ireland this season and in Rovers' UEFA Conference League campaign.

Captain Seamus Coleman returns to the squad as well as Leicester City winger Kasey McAteer, Ipswich Town's Sammie Szmodics and centre-back Andrew Omobamidele who has impressed with his performances in Ligue 1 this season for Strasbourg.

Winger Festy Ebosele, who has recently returned to full fitness for Turkish Super Lig side Istanbul Basaksehir, also returns to the international fold. Hallgrímsson has elected to leave out the vast majority of EFL Championship players to aid rest and recovery in their off-season, and to look ahead to the start of our FIFA 26 World Cup campaign in September.
