GU16s’ set for two International Friendlies against Switzerland

The Ireland Girls’ Under-16s will travel to Spain to take on Switzerland in two International Friendly games.

After making the most of a Winter Training Programme in the FAI National Training Centre, the Ireland players will be keen to get back playing games and these tests are perfect for that.

Head Coach Tom Elmes has given a first call-up to Chelsea defender Amelia Fahy, while Treaty United midfielder Madison McGuane will hope to add to her 12 appearances for this team in 2024.

Ireland kicked off last year with a double header against Switzerland and that led on to a very good year – seven wins collected overall – so Elmes and his staff will be hoping for something similar from these games in the Pinatar Arena.
