The Ireland Women’s National Team is calling on fans to go all in against cancer this Daffodil Day, Friday, March 22.

Ahead of their international friendly against Cymru on Tuesday at Tallaght Stadium, the Girls in Green turned yellow to show their support for the Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Day.

Ireland WNT captain, Katie McCabe, said: "Unfortunately, there isn’t a family in Ireland that hasn’t been touched by cancer. Even us a group of players, we have an amazing teammate – Chloe Mustaki - who has been through a diagnosis. The Irish Cancer Society is there to support patients and families affected by cancer so that nobody has to face cancer alone.

“We’re delighted, as a squad, to be going all in against cancer this Daffodil Day and we’re calling on the public to get involved and show their support on the 22^nd of March."

Averil Power, CEO of the Irish Cancer Society, said: “We are incredibly proud to partner with the Ireland Women’s National Team and want to sincerely thank the team for their support in raising awareness of cancer this Daffodil Day.

“No matter what cancer brings, the Irish Cancer Society is here to help. Daffodil Day, for us, is about hope. It’s about raising vital funds so that cancer patients have the support they need, when they need it most. But we can only do that with the public’s help.

"All our essential services, like free counselling, night nursing, and our transport service, are fueled by the public’s support on Daffodil Day. We’re urging communities across Ireland to get involved and go all in this Daffodil Day and help us to do more.”
