The Draw for the Club Orange Women’s FAI Cup Second Round was confirmed with holders Athlone Town paired with Peamount United.

At a live event in the National Sports Campus, ex-Wexford forward Vanessa Ogbonna (who won the Club Orange Women’s FAI Cup in 2019) joined FAI President Paul Cooke to help with the Draw.

The Draw pitted four-time winners Wexford against Shamrock Rovers, while SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division leaders Galway United will meet Treaty United.

For the first time, teams from the Women’s Development League will take part in the competition with Bray Wanderers, CK United, Cobh Ramblers, Drogheda United, Dundalk, Finn Harps, Kerry, Longford Town and St. Patrick’s Athletic still to complete First Round fixtures.

The winners of the four First Round fixtures, involving teams from the Women’s Development League and non-league competitions, will progress through to the Second Round where 12 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division teams.

The Second Round games will be played on the week ending Sunday, July 5th with fixture details to be confirmed in due course.
