Club Mark awarded to Tuam Celtic

County Galway’s Tuam Celtic AFC are the latest club to complete the FAI Club Mark.

Tuam Celtic AFC were founded in 1974 and is located at Celtic Park, Cloonthue, Tuam, County Galway. The club has continuously grown throughout the years, thanks in no small part to the voluntary fundraising organized by its members and with the support of local businesses. The club proudly owns their own facilities comprising of 3 pitches and training facilities. Tuam Celtic’s club house is currently being expanded to cater for the continuous growth of the club. The club consists of a youth academy from the ages of 5 to 11, thirteen underage teams and three senior teams all competing at different levels and enjoying their football. There are approximately 450 playing members in the club.

'The Tuam Celtic Academy plays a large part in creating the fabric of our community. In addition to teaching the values and behaviours of being in a team, it brings people together in a positively charged environment', Rory Gaffney (Shamrock Rovers). The club who prides themselves in community engagement and giving life skills to its members that can be applied both on and off the field. Tuam Celtic look forward to continuing to grow as club through upskilling of coaches, interacting with other community groups, maintaining best practices off the pitch and adhering to the FAI's Player Development Plan in order to maximize the opportunities for its members. Thanks to all involved with Tuam Celtic, the FAI and Galway FA and helping the Club achieve this award.

  • Improve the management of clubs ‘off the field’
  • Establish and promote best practice • Empower and support clubs
  • Recognise and reward clubs for achieving high standards
  • Increase a club’s capacity to operate effectively and grow football in communities throughout Ireland.
