Centenary logo and #WeAre100 Video launched

The Football Association of Ireland has today launched its Centenary logo and the first in a series of videos celebrating all that is great about Irish football across all levels of the game.

The #WeAre100 video features great moments from the history of the international badge and shirt and closes with iconic goals from Women’s National Team captain Katie McCabe and record goalscorer Robbie Keane before the logo is revealed alongside the limited edition Centenary jersey created by Umbro.

Produced by sports marketing agency Fifty-Three Six for the FAI with the assistance of Irish football historian Eddie O’Mahony, the video was released across all social media channels in the build-up to Wednesday’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Portugal in Faro.

As the Association steps up its Centenary celebrations, President Gerry McAnaney said of the first #WeAre100 video: “Fans will enjoy this walk through the history of the Ireland badge and the international shirt and I am certain it will prompt many memories.

“This is a celebration of the famous Ireland crest, of the jersey and of what it means to all of us – players and fans alike. I am delighted that we are launching our series of #WeAre100 videos today and unveiling our Centenary logo as we step up the celebrations around our hundred year history.

“It is a fitting celebration, through our shirts, of iconic moments and iconic goals as we return to FIFA World Cup qualifying games for our senior men and senior women. I look forward to many more great video moments celebrating the history of Irish football in the coming months.”

Videos to follow will focus on all strands of the game in Ireland and will celebrate everything from grassroots to Football For All, international football at all age groups, League of Ireland and Women’s National League.
