WU19 squad set for UEFA EURO Round 1 Qualifiers

The Ireland Women’s Under-19s will come up against Sweden, Poland and Bulgaria in Round 1 of their 2025/26 UEFA European WU19 Championship Qualifiers.

Head Coach Dave Connell has selected a strong squad made up of 14 players who featured in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division this season, including Rebecca Devereux who starred for Shelbourne before switching to Central Connecticut State University.

This is a new squad with 16 of the 20 players involved only making their WU19 debuts this year but they did benefit from having an extra International Friendly against Northern Ireland last weekend, which they won 4-1.

Ireland will be hoping to make it out of a tricky Group A5 as they start against Sweden (Wednesday, November 26th) before facing Poland (Saturday, November 29th) and finishing against hosts Bulgaria (Tuesday, December 2nd).

The games will be played in Albena, which is located on the north east coast of Bulgaria, and Ireland are hoping to advance through to the Elite Round and set out on a journey to reaching a third EURO Finals tournament.
