Regular users of Lansdowne Road DART Station and match ticket holders are advised that Lansdowne Road DART Station will close temporarily on the evening of Thursday, October 1st, 2026, for the UEFA Nations League game between Republic of Ireland and Austria. 

The closure, which will take place from 15:30 until end of service, is related to normal testing and readiness exercises which take place on occasion for notable sporting events at Aviva Stadium.

Forthcoming major events include UEFA EURO 2028, when the stadium will host seven matches.

On Thursday 1st October, the following arrangements will apply:

• DART services will continue as scheduled on Thursday October 1st, including additional services before and after the Republic of Ireland v Austria, but will not serve Lansdowne Road DART Station from 15:30 to final service on this date.

• Passengers attending the match and local commuters will be required to use Grand Canal Dock DART Station or Sandymount DART Station during the closure. Grand Canal Dock DART Station will remain open for the duration of this exercise, including after the match.

The exercise will examine logistics, mobility, safety, security and stadium access. To ensure thorough major event readiness and testing, Lansdowne Road DART Station was previously closed for the Republic of Ireland versus Denmark UEFA EURO 2020 qualifier in 2019, and for the UEFA Europa League Final in 2024. 

On match day, there will be additional support in place for fans going to Aviva Stadium, while stewards will be in place to assist and guide supporters. Supporters are encouraged to allow extra time than normal for their journey to and from the stadium.
