Survey | Female Participation in Football

Survey | Female Participation in Football

The Football Association of Ireland has teamed up with the Scottish Football Association to conduct research into the reasons why female players aged 13 and older have either dropped out of football or have never played football in either a competitive or non-competitive/recreational format.

The aim of the research project is to identify if there are any common trends/reasons that are contributing to the non-participation in the game for women and girls aged 13 and older and to present these findings to UEFA.

Along with presenting the findings the group will propose some new initiatives/interventions that could be introduced across both countries to stop the drop and encourage new participants in this age cohort in to the game.
