REPORT | WU17 | Northern Ireland 1-2 Ireland

The Ireland Women's Under-17s secured their seventh win of the year as they beat Northern Ireland 2-1 in Inver Park, Larne.

Ellen Goggin and Kassie McLoughlin got the goals for James Scott's team as they edged this International Friendly that allowed them to give 45 minutes to 18 different players.

Treaty United attacker Goggin got her second goal at this level when, on 12 minutes, she fired a low drive with the required combination of power and accuracy into the back of the net.

Winger Abbie Smyth pulled one back for the hosts on 25 minutes to level matters and it stayed that way going in at the interval.

A host of changes came at half-time to ensure that players got enough game-time but it did not disrupt their rhythm as this is a well-drilled squad of players under Scott's watch.

Shamrock Rovers ace McLoughlin put Ireland back in front on 78 minutes when she connected with a cross from Goggin to net her third goal of the year. That proved to be the winner.

Next up for Ireland are UEFA EURO Qualifiers in Frankfurt from October 23-29 against Belgium, France and Germany.

Ireland: Lucy Doyle Farrington (Sarah Doyle 46); Holly O'Hagan, Sophie Clarke (Lara Dallaghan 46), Caoimhe O'Brien, Ava Hallinan (Hailey Twomey 46); Madison McGuane (Emma Mooney 46), Alex Devoy; Ellen Goggin, Abbie Duffy (Sophie Byrne 46), Alice Buggle (Mia Gaff 46); Ciara Milton (Kassie McLoughlin 46).
