The Ireland Women's Under-17s beat Cymru 9-2 in the first of two International Friendly games in Dublin.

Goals from Anna Butler (3), Leah McGrath (2), Madison McGuane, Beatrice Silickaite, Aisling Meehan and Lily Anne O'Meara secured the win at the FAI National Training Centre.

Head Coach James Scott and his support staff were keen to use every opportunity to work with the squad ahead of their UEFA European Championship Qualifiers in November and they made the most of this game.

Overall, 18 players saw game-time on a rain-soaked afternoon as the Ireland team built on their performances in two games away to Portugal and showed a combination of attacking flair and superb finishing.

Ireland: Jenna Willoughby (Laura Fanning 75); Abigail Bradshaw (Michaela Hand 60), Heather Loomes (Lily Anne O'Meara 46), Finley Newell, Emma Gaughran (Aibhlinn Cotter 60), Maeve Wollmer (Mary Hartofilis 46); Sarah McCaffrey, Madison McGuane; Ella Kelly (Beatrice Silickaite 46); Anna Butler (Leah McGrath 60), Aisling Meehan.
