The Ireland Girls' Under-16s recorded a 3-1 triumph over Switzerland in the first of two International Friendlies in Spain.

After conceding on 14 minutes from a Ilaria Maddaloni goal, Ireland bounced back in style as Tom Elmes's team showed their attacking class.

Just before the half-time break, the away team hit back to level the scores when Celtic midfielder Ruby Morrison found the back of the net.

Ireland made a couple of changes at the interval and came out on the front foot. It didn't take long for Ciara Milton to put them in front on 48 minutes.

One of the substitutes, Halle Harcourt, was next up to add to the goalscoring when the Shelbourne ace fired in on 68 minutes.

This was a deserved win for Ireland and they will take a lot of confidence going into Saturday's game against the same opponent.

Ireland: Lucy Doyle Farrington (Sarah Doyle 73); Amelia Fahey (Sophie Clarke 73), Keelin Comiskey, Annabel Mulcaire Quille (Lara Dallaghan 46), Hailey Twomey; Madison McGuane (Alex Devoy 62), Emma Mooney; Ruby Morrison (Ellen Goggin 73), Molly Kirwan (Fiona Poole 62), Alice Bugle (Halle Harcourt 46); Ciara Milton (Ava Hallinan 81).
