REPORT | Slovenia 4-0 WNT

Slovenia recorded a 4-0 victory over the Ireland Women's National Team in their second game of Group 2 in the UEFA Nations League.

Having beaten Greece in their first game, Slovenia made a fast start in Koper with Lara Prašnikar firing in after just three minutes after racing free and then executing past goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan.

The same player got the second goal on 28 minutes when she got in front of her marker to hook in from close range after connecting with a corner kick.

The home side increased their lead on 34 minutes when Zara Kramžar fired in and Ireland were chasing the game going in 3-0 down at the interval.

Tyler Toland and Marissa Sheva were introduced at the start of the second period and Ireland improved in their overall play but struggled to find a way past goalkeeper Zala Meršnik.

In front of 533 fans, Slovenia hung on as Ireland continued to attack - registering 27 attempts on goal in total - but it was the home team who got the next goal through substitute Nina Kajzba.

Next up for Ireland are two games back-to-back against Greece in April as they now chase Slovenia for that top spot in the Group.
