Ireland Men’s Under-19s fell to a 4-1 defeat against a talented French squad in Clairefontaine earlier today.

Ireland’s Alfie Lynskey got Ireland’s solitary goal just after half-time for Tom Mohan's side. But the quality of Les Bleus shone through with France going in 2-0 ahead at the break thanks to a brace of goals from Lyon's Enzo Molebe.

The young Boys in Green struck through Aston Villa man Lyskey but France who score two unanswered goals with Zaid Seha and Quentin Ndjantou Mbitcha adding to the score line.

Tom Mohan’s side face the French again on Monday morning.

France: Akabou, Chauvin, Salhi,Dodote, Muzungu, Cabral (C),  El Jamali, Gadegbeku, Molebe, Mmadi, Seha. Substitutes: Stawiecki (GK), Tape, Angely, Courcoul, Devernois, Ndjantou Mbitcha, Messi, Louer, Dabo, Coulibaly, Doamo (GK).
