MU17 | Squad announced for Hungary double-header in Spain

A 20-player Ireland Men’s Under-17s squad will face Hungary in Pinatar, Spain as part of preparation for next month’s UEFA European Championship Qualifiers.

The young Boys in Green take on their Hungarian counterparts on Wednesday (kick-off 14:00 Irish time) and Saturday (kick-off 10:00 Irish time) at the FairPlay Golf Resort, Cádiz.

It is the first outing for the age group since the first round of qualification put them in the Elite Round of EURO qualification. Ireland overcame Kosovo, Faroe Islands and Austria last October to set up Elite Round meetings with Poland, Croatia and Slovakia in Poland.

Should Ireland qualify, they will head to the European Championships in Estonia while also booking a place at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar.
