Hungary & Portugal confirmed as June MNT opponents

The Football Association of Ireland has confirmed the two international friendly fixtures for the MNT in June 2024 with Ireland set to welcome Hungary to the Aviva Stadium before a trip to Portugal. 

Ireland are set to face Hungary at the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, June 4, with kick-off at 7.45pm, before a trip to Aviero to face Portugal on Tuesday, June 11, with kick-off at 7.45pm, with the MNT set to test themselves against top-quality opposition. 

Ireland last faced Hungary in June 2021 in an international friendly in Budapest where Chiedozie Ogbene made his Ireland debut in an entertaining 0-0 draw. Portugal came to the Aviva Stadium later that year where they were held to a 0-0 draw after a strong Ireland display in front of a packed home crowd. 

Belgium and Switzerland will travel to Dublin for the March international friendlies on Saturday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 26 respectively with the full schedule for 2024 set to be confirmed tomorrow in Paris, France at the UEFA Nations League draw. 

Ticket details for the two fixtures in June will be announced in due course with the two-match pack for Belgium and Switzerland available here.
