Countdown on to 2026 FAI Amateur Inter-Provincial Tournament

Countdown on to 2026 FAI Amateur Inter-Provincial Tournament

Six games. Three days. One winner. That is how the 2026 FAI Amateur Inter-Provincial Tournament will play out.

Hosted by the Ulster FA, this year's staging of the tournament will kick off on Friday, March 20th with games to follow on Saturday, March 21st and Sunday, March 22nd.

Each of the four provinces will field a team and they will each play each other over the three days across five different venues in Donegal.

Along with provincial pride at stake, this is an opportunity for the winning team to be confirmed as Ireland's representative in the 2026/2027 UEFA Regions' Cup.

The Regions' Cup is Europe's top amateur competition and runs across two rounds of qualifying before leading to an eight-team final tournament in the summer of 2027.

Ireland will be the host nation for their Group 8 games against Belarus, Croatia and Malta later this year. But, firstly, the team who will represent the country has to be confirmed.
