Clare's Tulla United Claim Club Mark

Tulla United are the latest club to achieve the Club Mark award.

Tulla United AFC is a football club located in in East Clare founded over 50 years ago in 1970. The club has a proud history of providing an outlet for girls and boys to play football at all stages of their lives.

Players come from Tulla and the surrounding villages and parishes of Crusheen, Clooney, Feakle, Kilkishen, Killanena, O’Callaghans’ Mills, Scariff and Quin.

The club have, thanks to the generosity of their supporters and dedication of their committee members, developed two full size playing fields, all-weather pitch and clubhouse with four dressing rooms. These facilities, together with the hardworking coaches, has allowed the club to register 19 teams in the Clare Leagues (Clare Schoolboys Schoolgirls League and Clare District Soccer League) in the 2021 season.

The underage teams consist of over 300 players with approximately 40% of these being girls. The club has also developed an academy for children up to eight years of age with over one-hundred children participating weekly. At senior level, Tulla United has more than 50 players registered.

As the club reached its 50th anniversary in 2020 the club embarked on an ambitious project of writing a book to capture their history from 1970 through its first playing season in 1971 all the way to the latest players representing the club today. This book will be published by end of 2021.

Tulla United has always adhered to good governance and best practice. The coaches under the guidance of our the Tulla United Coaching Development Officer are embracing the Coach Education Pathway and are fully supportive of the FAI Player Development Programme.

The Club owes a huge debt of gratitude to the numerous volunteers who have coached and guided the club over the years. Tulla United is also extremely thankful to their sponsors and supporters, in particular their development draw members who have allowed the club to develop and continue to progress.
