32nd FAI International Award Winners announced

The winners of the 32nd FAI International Awards have been announced with Josh Cullen picking up the FAI Men's Senior Player of the Year and Katie McCabe named the FAI Women's Senior Player of the Year.

Cullen, who has had an incredible impact on Stephen Kenny's side throughout the year, was presented with his award by Ireland legend Paul McGrath at a special ceremony in the team hotel as the squad prepare for the international friendly against Norway.

Ireland WNT skipper Katie McCabe, who has led her side to the Women's World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand in 2023, won the FAI Women's Senior Player of the Year. She won the award against the two other nominees; goalkeeper Courtney Brosnan and midfielder Denise O'Sullivan.

Goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu won the FAI Young International Player of the Year, holding off competition from the nominees Jason Knight and Chiedozie Ogbene. Bazunu also received his award from Ireland legend Paul McGrath last night ahead of Thursday's friendly.

Conor Coventry, who captained the side to their first-ever UEFA European Championships play-off, secured the FAI Under-21s Player of the Year, holding off competition from nominees goalkeeper Brian Maher and defender Lee O'Connor.

As part of the awards Irish football legends Shay Given and Linda Gorman have been inducted into the FAI Hall of Fame.

Donegal native Given is one of six centurions for the Republic of Ireland Men's Senior Team following his 134 appearances, which included a record 60 clean sheets.

Gorman, who hails from Finglas in Dublin, was part of the first ever Ireland Women's Senior Team that beat Wales 3-2 in May 1973. She was also a guest player on the Jeyes team that went on a four match tour of France to play against Stade de Reims.

Dr. Alan Byrne was also honoured with the Special Merit Award for the 32nd FAI International Awards.
